Overview
The three holy cities of Uttar Pradesh are Varanasi, Ayodhya and Prayagraj. These cities are popularly known as “Char Dhams“ as they are considered holy sites by Hindus. Varanasi is a city on the banks of the River Ganges and is considered the spiritual capital of India. Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Rama and is an important site for Hindu pilgrims. Prayagraj is located at the confluence of three sacred rivers, the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati. It is a major pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists alike.
